Rookwood "A" Artist E.T. Hurley. Hurley has captured a warm tranquil summer evening scene silhouetted by a lone
church steeple and beconing far off hills in an placid and enchanting setting as huddling trees border a reflective cove (
Mt. Adams, Church of the Immaculate Conception ?).
Edward Timothy Hurley was one of Rookwood Pottery's most celebrated and prolific artists whos work in pottery,
plaques, etchings, oils, lithographic and book print can be found in major museums, Art Assocs, Auction Houses and
publications throughout the U.S. and abroad including but not limited too Cincinnati Museum of Art, The Taft
Museum, Detroit Art Institute, Art Assoc. of Indianaplois, NY Public Library, Chicago Art Institute, Library of Congress,
The Brirish Museum of London, Sothebys, Christies, David Rago, John Toomey, Treadway and Montross Galleries and
several written publications to name a few. Hurley studied at The Cincinnati Art Acadamy under master artist Frank
Duveneck and was the winner of many prestigious awards including the xxxx St. Louis Worlds Fair Gold Medal award

Condition; original untouched condition service crazing present plaque has no chips, cracks or repairs early reverse tag
reads " Balmy Days " E.T. Hurley and back of plaque is inscribed with Rookwood logo , Sunburst , Flames and roman
numerals XIX (xxxx). Plaque is inscribed with Hurley's monogram E.T.H. lower left facing ( see photos ).
Dim. are 8 1/4 X 6 1/4 plaque and image only 14 X 11 7/8 in frame.
