Tootsie is looking for a very extra special home. She is an estimated 9 year old, 25 pound boston terrier/beagle mix. Tootsie is the sweetest thing you'll ever meet. She's addicted to napping and cuddling and she's earned it! Tootsie has a large tumor in her abdomen that is very likely cancerous. She drinks a lot of water and uses the bathroom quite a bit so the tumor is either wrapped around her urethra or is affecting her kidneys in some way. We aren't sure how long she has left to live, and right now only has moments of discomfort. We are choosing not to operate on her tumor because if it is found that it cannot be removed, the vet recommended to put her to sleep during the surgery. We don't want to do that to her since she's out of the shelter and loving life. Instead, we are looking for an individual or family to allow Tootsie maximum comfort for the rest of her days. We aren't asking for a donation, but we will screen an adoption application and check references as we would for any other home.
